Dear all

my latest inspiration 2014/2015: http://www.pinterest.com/yarafrancken/ooo/
Since a year I have been working and learning in Eindhoven, to gain knowledge about design. First I started the master contextual design and then decided the master was too theoretical and I wanted to learn more practical stuff. Since then I have been working for Kirstie van Noort, a ceramist and designer who works at Sectie C in Eindhoven.
My latest inspiration is based on interior and design and illustrations. For now I decided to continue with my illustrations and textile. You can find me on pinterest and on instagram.

To be continued!

"Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses magnets to align hydrogen atoms and radio waves to create a series of images of internal structures. The result is a 3D representation cut into slices, just like a loaf of bread.
Andy Ellison is an MRI technologist at Boston University Medical School’s Center for Biomedical Engineering. When he’s not taking images that, you know, save lives, he creates amazing works of art by scanning produce! His images are all uploaded onto his blog, Inside Insides, which contains additional gifs, high resolution still images, and even an interactive 3D format.

I’m creating a fake science technology/theory based on real science(theories), with as main subject space, cells, nanotechnology, micro/macrocosmos and the differences and similarities between these subjects.
I’m very interested in the history of science as a way to express and present my work.
What is especially necessary to make those theories and images believable and look professional?

Images of historical discoveries in for example museums seem very important, but what makes it feel that it is actually important? Is it a sort of entertainment to go to museums and watch science visuals while you are thinking you are learning? Or are we searching for sublime feelings by escaping in these visuals, by thinking ‘what is in the emptiness of space?’
And IF it is just the experience of watching and ‘learning’ we are looking for,
Does it matter that it is fake?

In my research project I try to find what attracts me the most in these images and knowledge and why it attracts me the most. At a certain point I start believing in my own creations, which gives me a satisfaction I’ve never had before. Maybe because I cannot control science and technology, but in this way I can.
So start believing!

may I introduce you

My work is about organizing and reconstructing space and reality.

Does space consist of different layers, time, pixels or particles or are we allowed to fill it in as we wish? If we are, do we in doing so create a new reality?
My biggest inspirations are the theories of Jean Baudrillard, Hyperreality and Disneyfication.
I research themes such as reality, falsification and conceived worlds.
The human endeavor to control and manipulate space and reality particularly fascinates me.

Throughout the past months, my work has become increasingly abstract. I try to create a certain form of depth by printing with ink and paint. Using lines, planes, filters, frames, and contrast I try to create new perspectives and hope to offer an alternative to anybody wishing to momentarily escape into space.
